Water leaks in vehicles can trigger various problems if they progress. Water leaks in a vehicle are caused by certain malfunctions. The factors causing the malfunction can be found quickly. The factors causing water leaks are focused on specific problems. While a water leak may seem minor, it is a problem that can progress if not taken seriously. Some parts can be damaged due to the leak, leading to problems that will damage the vehicle.

Causes of Water Leakage in Vehicles

                         1. Radiator Leak: If the radiator, the part that absorbs the engine's heat, breaks or cracks, water leaks will occur. In such cases, water or antifreeze will drip under the vehicle. The engine temperature will rise momentarily. The antifreeze level will continuously decrease.

SOLUTION: If the radiator is cracked or severely deformed, it needs to be replaced. Repairing the radiator part is generally not possible. Replacement is the only definitive solution.

                         2. Radiator Hose Cracks: Cracks occur in the hoses connecting the radiator to the engine compartment. Cracks or small punctures that develop over time cause water leaks. Water drips while the engine is running. Wetness occurs on and around the hose. The engine temperature begins to rise excessively.

SOLUTION: If the radiator hose is torn or damaged, it needs to be replaced. Repairing or attempting to fix the hose is not a solution.

                           3. Water Pump Failure: The pump that circulates water inside the motor may have a problem. If the water pump does not circulate, leaks will occur. Water will accumulate in the lower part of the motor. Increased power levels may occur.

SOLUTION: If the specified malfunctions occur in the water pump, the pump needs to be replaced. Since water pumps have a limited lifespan, malfunctions can be prevented by monitoring them before they occur.

                          4. Air Conditioner Drain Hose Malfunction: When the air conditioner is running, water is drained outwards. If the drain hose becomes clogged, water will flow inwards instead of outwards. This creates a situation where water leaks under the vehicle. Water leaks occur while the air conditioner is on and gradually increase in intensity.

SOLUTION: The drain hoses are checked, and any blockages are cleared. If the blockage is severe or completely deformed, the drain hose is removed and replaced with a new one.
