Car Fan Not Engaging Problem and Solution

This is a common malfunction in cars. When the vehicle reaches a certain operating temperature, the fan activates. It plays a role in relieving overheating and helping the engine cool down. If the fan doesn't activate, it can spread to other parts of the vehicle. When the engine is exerting a certain amount of power, the engine temperature is controlled. Even if the thermostat is performing its function, if the fan isn't activating, the problem is serious. The malfunction should be diagnosed, and all necessary parts should be replaced or repaired as soon as possible.

What are the symptoms of a malfunction?

                         • Temperature gauge rises.

                        • Vehicle overheats in heavy traffic.

                       • Fan does not work when the air conditioning is on.

                       • No working sound comes from the radiator fan.

                       • Engine coolant boils.

                                                  Causes of Fan Failure

                          1. Fan Switch Malfunction: If the fan switch breaks or is deformed, the temperature sensing will decrease. In this case, no signal will be sent to the fan to activate. The fan switch plays a major role in controlling temperature.

                         2. Fan Relay Malfunction: The relay is the part that supplies electricity to the fan. If the fan relay is faulty or not functioning properly, the fan cannot start because there is no electricity.

3.Fuse Blowing: The fuses supplying electricity to the fan housing may blow. When a fuse blows, the fan cannot perform its heat transfer function.

                        4. Fan Motoru Arızası: Fan motorunda yaşanan yanma durumu, fanı tamamen devre dışı bırakır. Fanın devreye girmemesinin başında gelen arızadır.

                        5. Thermostat Malfunction: If the thermostat remains closed or has cable cuts on it, it directly affects the fan's proper operation. Heat will not be detected, and the fan's operation will be canceled.

                       6. Wiring Fault: If there is a problem with the wiring connecting the fan box, motor housing, and thermostat, the fan will malfunction due to a faulty wiring system.

                                                    Fan Malfunction Solution

                                  • Checking Fan Fuse

                                 • Testing the Relay and Replacing it with a New One

                                • Repairing the Fan Motor by Testing it Using Different Methods

                                • Checking Thermostat-Related Parts
